Phoenix, AZ ~ In a move to diversify her team and bring in fresh perspectives, Governor Hobbs of Arizona has appointed Liliana Soto as the new Press Secretary for the Office of the Governor. Soto, an award-winning journalist, will be transitioning to this role after a successful decade-long career in broadcast journalism for both English and Spanish news. She also brings with her almost three years of experience as an academic.
As an immigrant from Sonora, Mexico and a proud Arizonan, Soto expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve her state and its people. She believes that representation is crucial in today's world and is eager to utilize her knowledge and expertise in bilingual journalism and academia to support the governor's office.
