Arizona Sexual Violence & Disability Network Conference to be Held in Phoenix

PHOENIX ~ Today marks the first annual conference of the Arizona Sexual Violence & Disability Network at the Ability 360 Conference Center in Phoenix, AZ. The conference, entitled "Together We Are Stronger", will feature a keynote speaker, James Meadours of Strategic Education Solutions. Meadours is a national spokesman for the intellectually developmentally disabled ("I/DD") and a survivor himself. According to panel Co-Chair Josette Sullins, Dehp Integrative Care CEO and Founder, Meadours will discuss "the importance of believing what you are seeing, hearing and feeling with your eyes, ears, and heart." The panel will focus on prevention, treatment, and healing. The sold-out conference is expected to be attended by professionals from around Arizona.

The mission of the Arizona Sexual Violence & Disability Network is to identify and respond to critical needs of individuals with I/DD and other disabilities who face the greatest risk of sexual violence in Arizona. Their vision is that Arizonians live by a collective belief that everyone has value and deserves to live a life free from sexual violence. People with I/DD are especially encouraged to be meaningfully included in the movement to end sexual violence in Arizona.

The conference aims to create positive client impact by providing resources for those affected by sexual violence as well as raising awareness about this issue among professionals from around Arizona. With this event taking place today, it is clear that the Arizona Sexual Violence & Disability Network is committed to making a difference in their community.
