Phoenix, AZ ~ Phoenix, AZ - The Governor's Office of Resiliency (OOR) has been granted $156 million from the EPA's Solar for All program to improve access to solar energy for all residents of Arizona. This initiative, known as Solar for All Arizonans, aims to deploy 61 MW of new solar resources throughout the state, benefiting low-income families, renters, and rural and Tribal communities.

Governor Katie Hobbs expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating that it will not only provide clean and affordable electricity to Arizona families but also create job opportunities in various communities. She believes that this program will have a significant impact on lowering energy costs for thousands of Arizonans.

The Solar for All Arizonans program is expected to bring numerous benefits to families across the state. It is estimated that participating families will save over $164 million on their utility bills, allowing them to allocate more funds towards essential expenses such as food and medicine. OOR plans to collaborate with electric utilities, particularly Tribal utility authorities, to implement neighborhood-scale solar projects and provide bill credits for those living in multi-family housing. Additionally, over 300 rural households will have access to solar plus battery systems, ensuring uninterrupted electricity service.
