KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 6, 2024 ~ Conexon, a leading provider of rural fiber-optic network solutions, is making strides in its business growth and expansion within the broadband industry with the addition of a new leadership role. John Walburn, an industry veteran from Queen Creek, Arizona, has been appointed as the company's Chief Operating Officer.
This newly created position reflects Conexon's increasing need for a dedicated senior executive to improve operational efficiencies and integrate its various service divisions. Walburn's appointment follows the recent hiring of Abby Carere as Chief Customer Experience Officer in July. This move was made to address the changing demands of the industry and to lead new initiatives aimed at enhancing Conexon Connect's subscriber experience.
As COO, Walburn will be responsible for overseeing Conexon's network operations, development, construction, regulatory and funding divisions in collaboration with existing Senior Vice President leadership. In her expanded role as Chief Customer Experience Officer, Carere will oversee sales, marketing, business development, account management and customer care divisions. This will bring together both Conexon and internet service provider entity Conexon Connect teams to work towards a shared goal of providing customer-centric fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services. Matthew Blain will continue in his role as Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with Carere and Walburn on strategic growth initiatives and developing new resources to further strengthen Conexon's position in delivering connectivity to underserved areas of America.
