PHOENIX, Feb. 28, 2024 ~ In a move towards promoting public safety and standardizing industry practices, DIZPOT, a leading cannabis packaging company, has expressed their support for regulatory milestones in Missouri and Arizona. The recent passing of Missouri's Senate Bill 984, also known as the Intoxicating Cannabinoid Control Act (ICCA), is seen as a significant step towards implementing stricter safety measures in the rapidly growing cannabis market in Missouri. DIZPOT commends the unanimous support of SB 984 by the Missouri Senate Judiciary and Jurisprudence Committee and looks forward to the House's approval of House Bill 1781 on Thursday, February 29th. If passed, this bill has the potential to redefine cannabis safety standards in Missouri.
"We firmly believe that cannabis should be regulated to safeguard our communities," says John Hartsell, Co-Founder of DIZPOT.
As legislative discussions continue in both states, DIZPOT reiterates its stance as an advocate for responsible regulation and public health. This major initiative, led by MOCANN and prominent license holders in Missouri, aims to pass House Bill 1781 which would require all intoxicating cannabinoid products to undergo rigorous testing and adhere to packaging standards similar to those for legal cannabis products. Furthermore, these products would only be sold at licensed establishments, ensuring consumer safety.

DIZPOT's support for responsible regulation is not new. In Arizona, they recently opposed House Bill 2679 alongside the Arizona Dispensaries Association (ADA). This bill aimed to protect consumers from unregulated synthetic cannabinoid products being sold at non-licensed establishments. John Hartsell stood with other legal license holders such as Arizona Natural Concepts, The Giving Tree, and Noble Herb to prioritize consumer safety over profits. "Safety is the seed from which all our initiatives grow," states DIZPOT, emphasizing their commitment to consumer trust.
Together with ADA and other supporters, DIZPOT celebrates the successful opposition of House Bill 2679. This collaborative effort is a win for consumer protection and highlights the need for continued vigilance against similar bills like SB1186, which could potentially allow untested and unregulated synthetic cannabinoids to be sold at non-licensed establishments, putting minors at risk.
Ann Torrez, executive director of the Arizona Dispensaries Association, explains their role in advocating for safe cannabis use. "Arizona Dispensaries Association works with more than 80% of all license holders in the state to advocate for safe use. Unregulated intoxicating hemp products are not lab tested or overseen by the state. We continue to educate legislators and consumers on the dangers of these products, and data from both the Phoenix and Tucson Arizona Drug and Poison Centers proves it."

This engagement comes amidst warnings from health professionals about the dangers of synthetic cannabinoids, often marketed as safe and appealing to younger demographics through deceptive packaging resembling candy. With reports showing an increase in children's exposure to cannabis, there is a growing emphasis on maintaining strict market standards. DIZPOT has consistently emphasized the need for clear regulations towards Delta-8 THC following the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill. The company is committed to closing illicit market loopholes that could jeopardize consumer health and youth safety.
DIZPOT's dedication to safety, combined with their business acumen, solidifies their stance on responsible regulation. "We firmly believe that cannabis should be regulated to safeguard our communities while respecting the right of adults to responsibly enjoy its benefits," says CEO and Co-Founder John Hartsell. "This bill posed a dire threat to consumer health and to the reputation of the industry we are all working so hard to build."
As legislative discussions continue in both states, DIZPOT stands united with lawmakers, industry leaders, and the wider community in creating a cannabis industry that prioritizes transparency, safety, and consumer trust.
