TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizonar -- EBCO General Contractor celebrated a major construction milestone on March 10, 2026, with a topping-out ceremony for the Tempo by Hilton hotel currently under construction in Tucson, Arizona. The celebration took place at the jobsite within the visionary Uptown development and brought together approximately 250 guests, project partners, and team members.
The Tempo by Hilton hotel is part of Uptown, a transformative two-million-square-foot urban village located just west of the Catalina Mountains. Once complete, the development will feature a vibrant mix of retail spaces, dining establishments, workspaces, residential communities, and hotels.
The topping-out celebration reflected the collaborative spirit behind the project. Guests enjoyed a large barbecue lunch, tool and prize raffles, and giveaways that included televisions, gift cards, and project swag. A representative from Hilton attended the event and remarked that it was one of the most impressive topping-out celebrations they had participated in, highlighting the energy and excitement shared by the construction team and project partners.

"This milestone represents the dedication, craftsmanship, and teamwork that define every project we build," said David Egger, President of EBCO General Contractor. "We're honored to partner with Bourn Companies and the entire project team to bring the Tempo by Hilton brand to Tucson as part of the Uptown development. The 144-room Tempo by Hilton hotel is being developed by Bourn Companies and designed by Mayse & Associates, with Studio 11 Design, Valencia Hotel Collection, and Stovelight.
The hotel will feature active ground-floor retail and dining, flexible meeting spaces, and a 4,000-square-foot pool deck, creating a vibrant hospitality destination within Uptown. The project is currently scheduled to open in 2027.
During the ceremony, one of EBCO's superintendents also helped translate each speaker to ensure that the event was inclusive and accessible for the diverse workforce that has helped bring the project to life.
As construction continues, EBCO and its partners remain focused on delivering a hotel that will contribute to the vision of Uptown as a vibrant urban village and a destination for visitors and residents alike.
