Phoenix, AZ ~ Phoenix, AZ - In recognition of the vital role that family caregivers play in Arizona's healthcare landscape, Governor Katie Hobbs has declared November as Arizona Family Caregiver Month. This proclamation honors the thousands of Arizonans who selflessly take on the responsibility of caring for their loved ones.

According to the proclamation, nearly 12% of Arizonans are currently providing care to a family member living with dementia, a chronic disease, a disability, or who is an older adult. These individuals devote countless hours and resources to ensure the well-being of their loved ones, often putting their own lives on hold.

Governor Hobbs expressed her gratitude for these unsung heroes, stating that they provide critical and compassionate care that goes above and beyond what is provided through the healthcare system. She believes that they deserve recognition for their dedication and hard work.

The governor also highlighted the significant impact that family caregivers have on Arizona's economy. They contribute over 800 million hours of unpaid work each year, which equates to approximately $14.5 billion in value.
