Phoenix, AZ ~ Phoenix, AZ - In the midst of chaos and confusion following the Arizona Supreme Court's decision to uphold a strict 1864 abortion ban, Governor Hobbs has taken action to protect Arizonans. In a statement released today, she clarified that her Executive Order, which prevents extremist county attorneys from prosecuting individuals for abortion-related crimes, applies to all those involved in seeking abortion care.
This announcement comes after concerns were raised by healthcare providers and advocates about the lack of clarity surrounding protections for those who assist women in obtaining abortions. Governor Hobbs addressed these concerns, stating that her Executive Order extends to women and their loved ones, doctors and other healthcare providers, as well as any person who helps a woman obtain an abortion.
