~ Mesa, AZ - The city of Mesa has shattered its Hydration Donation Campaign goal thanks to record-breaking participation from residents and businesses. The campaign, which ran from May 6 to September 27, raised an impressive 1,014,160 bottles of water, surpassing the initial goal of 700,000. This total also breaks the previous record of 836,154 bottles set in 2015.
Since its inception in 2007, the Hydration Donation Campaign has seen a significant increase in donations each year. In its first year, the campaign collected just over 50,000 bottles. This year's record-breaking number is a testament to the generosity and compassion of the Mesa community.
Mayor John Giles expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support from residents and businesses during this year's brutally hot summer months. "Getting a record number of bottles during record-breaking heat for the Hydration Donation Campaign shows that Mesa is a community of caring people who are willing to come together to support a tremendous cause," said Mayor Giles.
