~ Mesa residents have the opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping the future of their city by attending open house events to review and provide input on the City's 2050 General Plan. As a roadmap for Mesa's long-term growth, prosperity, and well-being, the 2050 General Plan sets a vision and priorities for the city. The input of residents is essential in ensuring that this plan accurately reflects the aspirations and priorities of the community.
The open house events will be held in each City Council district, providing convenient access for all residents. The first event will take place on February 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in District 1. District 2's event will be held on February 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Taylor Junior High, while District 3's event will be on February 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dobson Ranch Community Center.
Residents in Districts 4,5, and 6 can attend open house events on March 2, February 29, and March 1 respectively at various locations within their districts. These events provide an opportunity for residents to engage with city officials and share their thoughts and ideas about Mesa's future.

The City's General Plan is updated every ten years as mandated by the State of Arizona. In addition to attending an open house event, residents can also participate in the process online through March 4 at tomorrowsmesa.com.
The draft of the General Plan is a result of extensive community input from approximately ten thousand people who participated through surveys and public events during the year of2023. A citizen advisory committee worked alongside City staff to analyze this input and incorporate information from existing plans and strategic initiatives set by Mesa City Council.
The General Plan focuses on three core values: The Land, The People, and The Economy. It is a comprehensive plan that takes into account the needs and desires of the community for a sustainable and prosperous future.
If approved by Mesa City Council in mid-2024, the 2050 General Plan will be put to a vote by residents during the November 2024 election.
