~ Mesa College Promise Program Deadline Approaching for 2024-2025 Academic Year
As the deadline for applications approaches, Mesa College Promise Program is gearing up to offer two years of tuition and fees at Mesa Community College (MCC) for eligible 2024 Mesa high school graduates and Mesa residents 24 years or older. The program, launched by Mesa Mayor John Giles in 2021, aims to eliminate one of the top barriers for adult learners in the community.
The program is open to Mesa residents who meet certain requirements, including demonstrating financial need through FAFSA completion and supporting documentation, earning a high school diploma or GED, and enrolling at MCC in a minimum of 6 credits as a degree or certificate-seeking student in an eligible program of study.
This year marks the first time that Mesa residents 24 and older are eligible to apply for assistance through the program. This expansion was made possible through a public-private partnership between MCC, the corporate sector, and Mayor Giles. The goal is to provide opportunities for adult learners to upskill or reskill at no cost.
Applications for the Mesa College Promise Program are currently being accepted online for the 2024-2025 academic year. This includes eligible 2024 Mesa high school graduates as well as newly eligible adults.

Mesa College Promise is one of the first Promise Programs in the state and has already welcomed its first group of students in Fall 2021. Since then, it has continued to grow with 201 students in Fall 2022 and approximately 200 more expected in Fall 2023. More than 70% of these students are the first in their families to attend college.
The program aligns with Arizona's statewide attainment goal known as Achieve60, which aims to have at least 60% of all adults holding a high-value workforce certification or college degree by 2030. A recent statewide survey showed that an overwhelming 86% of residents support this goal.
The Mesa College Promise Program has received over $760,000 in government and private match funds since its inception. This includes a generous donation of $100,000 from Google to expand the program to include newly eligible adults.
Mesa College Promise scholars are grateful for the financial support provided by individual and organizational philanthropic contributions. In addition, they value the services offered through the program that help ensure their academic success.
For those interested in applying or learning more about the Mesa College Promise Program, full details and the application link can be found at mesacc.edu/mesa-promise. The deadline to apply is Monday, July 15. Don't miss out on this opportunity to receive two years of tuition and fees at MCC for free.
