Improper disposal of hazardous materials can lead to fires in collection vehicles or at waste facilities and pose serious environmental health risks. The city's Solid Waste Director, Sheri Collins, emphasized that the extended hours were a direct response to community feedback.
"We recognize the need for more flexible drop-off times and are pleased to provide additional hours of service," said Collins.
It is important to note that the HHM facility will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day but will reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, July 5.
