~ At the 93rd Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) in Tampa, Florida, Mesa Mayor Mark Freeman was appointed as the Vice Chair of the Energy Committee. This prestigious position will allow Mayor Freeman to represent cities with populations of 30,000 or more in shaping national energy policy.
The meeting brought together almost 200 mayors from across the country to discuss various policy priorities that impact American cities. These included topics such as housing affordability, infrastructure modernization, climate resiliency, and energy innovation.
As a member of the USCM's leadership team, Mayor Freeman will play a crucial role in addressing policies and programs related to energy efficiency, renewable energy development, grid reliability, and sustainable infrastructure. These are all areas that he has been a strong advocate for in Mesa and the surrounding region.

Expressing his gratitude for the appointment, Mayor Freeman stated, "I am honored to be appointed as Vice Chair of the Energy Committee for the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
