Mesa Police Department Announces Labor Day DUI Task Force

~ Mesa, AZ - In an effort to promote road safety, the Mesa Police Department (MPD) has announced that they will be conducting DUI enforcement over the upcoming Labor Day weekend. This initiative is a collaboration between MPD and the Governors Office of Highway Safety (GOHS), with the MPD Traffic Unit participating in the annual Labor Day DUI Task Force from Friday, August 30th to Monday, September 2nd.

The key enforcement hours for this task force are as follows: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m., and Monday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. The goal of this task force is to remove impaired drivers from the roads and reduce vehicle collisions in order to enhance safety throughout the valley.

According to MPD spokesperson, Officer John Smith, "The Labor Day DUI Task Force is a vital initiative aimed at decreasing injuries and fatalities caused by impaired driving." He also urges everyone to enjoy the holiday weekend responsibly by designating a sober driver or using a rideshare service for safe travels.
