Mesa Police Department's Safer Streets Operation

~ The Mesa Police Traffic Unit is launching Operation Safer Streets in March and April to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury collisions in the City of Mesa. In 2022, there were 44 fatal collisions and over 1000 injury collisions. Officers will be focusing on speeding, distracted driving, unsafe vehicle operations and pedestrian violations. The public is encouraged to obey all traffic laws, put down their electronic devices while driving, slow down, be aware of other vehicles and pedestrians entering their pathway, and not drive impaired. The enforcement detail will occur at various days and times.
