Trending...
~ As the Labor Day weekend approaches, the Mesa Police Department (MPD) has announced their plans to conduct DUI enforcement. The MPD Traffic unit will be working in collaboration with the Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) DUI Labor Day Task Force from Friday, August 29 until Monday, September 1. The emphasized hours for this operation will be from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while a saturation patrol will take place on Monday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

This annual DUI Task Force involves various local law enforcement agencies coming together for a coordinated effort to improve public safety. The main goal of this task force is to remove impaired drivers from the road and enhance roadway safety across the Valley. By reducing the number of collisions caused by impaired driving, the task force hopes to lower the number of injuries and fatalities directly linked to this dangerous behavior.
