~ Mesa, AZ- The Mesa Police Department has announced that they will be conducting DUI enforcement activities this weekend. In support of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) Memorial Day Weekend DUI Task Force, the MPD Traffic Unit will be actively patrolling from Friday, May 23 to Monday, May 26. The emphasized hours for these activities will be from 4pm to 2am each night.
The Memorial Day Weekend DUI Task Force is an annual local enforcement activity with the mission of removing impaired drivers from the road and creating safer streets throughout the valley. This initiative also aims to decrease the number of vehicle collisions caused by impaired driving.

They also remind citizens to report any reckless, unsafe, or suspected DUI driving to their local law enforcement. The nonemergency line for the Mesa Police Department is 480-644-2211.
