~ Mesa Police Department to Conduct DUI Enforcement Activities This Memorial Day Weekend
The Mesa Police Department (MPD) will be out in full force this Memorial Day weekend, conducting DUI enforcement activities. The MPD Traffic Unit will be working closely with the Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) to support the annual Memorial Day Weekend DUI Task Force.
Starting from Friday, May 22 until Monday, May 25, the MPD will be emphasizing their efforts during peak hours. On Friday, they will be patrolling from 2pm to midnight, and on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 9pm.

The main goal of the Memorial Day Weekend DUI Task Force is to remove impaired drivers from the road and make the streets safer for everyone in the valley. This local enforcement activity aims to decrease the number of vehicle collisions caused by impaired driving.
In light of this, the Mesa Police Department is urging everyone to celebrate responsibly and designate a sober driver. They also encourage citizens to report any reckless or suspected DUI driving to their non-emergency line at 480-644-2211.
