~ Mesa, AZ - As the fall season approaches, youth flag football is gearing up to be one of Mesa's most popular recreation programs. With spots still available, families are encouraged to register for the upcoming season in the NFL Co-Ed and Girls Flag Football Leagues, as well as the Flag Football Kinder Clinic for kids ages 5 and 6.

According to Augie Perez, Mesa Recreation Coordinator, flag football has been rapidly growing in popularity and is now even being offered at the high school level. "We launched our girls' league last year and it was a huge success - players learned the game, built confidence, and had a lot of fun," said Perez. This will be the fourth season that Mesa has partnered with NFL Flag Football, and families have raved about their experience with the program. One of the highlights for participants is receiving reversible replica jerseys featuring team logos.

The Kinder Clinic is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of flag football in a fun and supportive environment. Emphasizing teamwork, basic skills, and game play, this clinic is a great way for kids to get involved in the sport.

Registration fees for these programs are some of the lowest in the East Valley at just $90 for Mesa residents and $105 for non-residents in the Girls and Co-Ed Leagues. The Kinder Clinic is even more affordable at $75 for Mesa residents and $90 for non-residents. Scholarships and discounts of up to 50% are also available.

Participants can look forward to six league games plus weekly practices on well-lit, city-maintained fields. All coaches are background-checked and trained through the City's Positive Coaching Alliance partnership. Families can also expect support from dedicated City of Mesa recreation staff throughout the season.

To stay updated on league standings, schedules, contact information, and more, participants will have access to the City of Mesa Team Sideline site. One parent even called this program "the most organized league we've played in."
