Mesa Reminds Residents of Free Sandbags for Storm Preparation

~ As the City of Mesa braces for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential flooding in the coming days, residents are being urged to take necessary precautions. In response to the forecast, the city has made free sand and bags available for residents.

According to city officials, sand and empty bags can be found at various locations throughout Mesa. These include Fire Station 202 on 830 S. Stapley Drive, Fire Station 205 on 730 S. Greenfield Road, Fire Station 209 on 7035 E. Southern Ave., and Fire Station 212 on 2430 E. Ellsworth Road. However, residents must bring their own shovel to fill the bags.

In addition, the Mesa Transportation Department has pre-filled sandbags at two locations: the Transportation Building on 300 E. 6th St. and the East Mesa Service Center on 6935 E. Decatur St.
