~ The City of Mesa's Community Engagement team is offering a free Resident's Guide to Building Community class this month to help neighborhood leaders improve their communities. The class will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Hermosa Vista Elementary School, 2626 N. 24th St., and will provide participants with an action plan and tangible next steps to connect with more people in the neighborhood.
During the meeting, attendees will learn how to plan a neighborhood get-together, start a neighborhood watch, organize a neighborhood cleanup and discuss adding speed bumps on their street. Registration is required due to limited seating.

The City's Community Engagement team is also offering a Resident's Guide to Homeowners Associations class which consists of monthly virtual seminars on hot topics and laws about Arizona HOAs and condos that conclude with a question-and-answer session. Residents can find more information and register for these classes at mesaaz.gov/neighbor. The next Resident's Guide class will be Community and Civic Engagement on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at City Council Chambers, 57 E. 1st St., beginning at 6 p.m..
