The city continues to invest in safe neighborhoods with its police and fire departments responding to hundreds of thousands of calls over the past year. Additionally, violent crime has decreased by 14 percent due to a focus on proactive policing, community partnerships, and investment in first responders.

The city attracted over $1 billion in new capital investment and added 1,500 new jobs driven by expansion in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and logistics. The transformation of the former Fiesta Mall site into the Palo District was another major development project highlighted by Mayor Freeman. This project is expected to bring additional investment and jobs while creating a regional destination for West Mesa.

Mesa is also prioritizing workforce development and education through partnerships with Arizona State University Polytechnic, Mesa Community College, East Valley Institute of Technology, and Mesa Public Schools. These partnerships create direct pathways from the classroom to high-demand careers, ensuring that local talent can meet the needs of a growing economy.

Despite delivering high-quality services, Mesa remains one of the most affordable large cities in the region. The city maintains strong bond ratings, does not levy a primary property tax, and is making strategic investments in infrastructure without compromising long-term financial stability.
