PHOENIX, May 20, 2025 ~ OrthoArizona, the leading private orthopedic practice in the state, has announced a major expansion initiative that will bring its top-notch musculoskeletal care to more communities in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The plan, set to be completed by 2027, includes the opening of five new facilities and the expansion of four existing locations. This move reinforces OrthoArizona's commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care close to home.

With 36 sites already in operation, OrthoArizona's expansion will include the addition of surgical centers, comprehensive clinics, advanced imaging services, and physical therapy locations. This will ensure a fully integrated continuum of care for patients from diagnosis to recovery.

Dr. Rajan Bhatt, chief executive officer of OrthoArizona, stated that since its establishment in 1994, the practice has been dedicated to delivering exceptional orthopedic care with expertise and compassion. He added that this expansion reflects their continued investment in the communities they serve and their goal to meet the growing demand for their services while setting a new standard for convenience and quality in musculoskeletal medicine.

Dr. Caleb Behrend, president of OrthoArizona, also emphasized their focus on clinical excellence and innovation as a physician-led organization. He believes that this expansion will empower their providers to deliver advanced treatments close to where patients live and work. Behrend expressed excitement about deepening their relationships with these growing communities and continuing to raise the bar for orthopedic care in Arizona.

Dr. Bhatt was appointed as CEO in late 2024 and brings over 15 years of healthcare leadership experience to OrthoArizona. With a background in clinical care, entrepreneurship, and strategic growth, he previously founded Spectrum Dermatology – Arizona's largest dermatology group – before its successful private equity exit in 2021. His unique expertise positions OrthoArizona for its next era of innovation and impact.

The expansion plan includes opening new facilities as well as expanding existing ones. In June 2025, a new MRI center will open in Scottsdale, just half a mile from OrthoArizona's Pima Center, providing expanded imaging access for North Scottsdale patients. A full-service musculoskeletal center will also open in Buckeye in June 2025, offering orthopedic care, hand and physical therapy services, and durable medical equipment services.
