SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Arizonar -- PACSHealth, LLC, a leading imaging informatics software engineering company, today announced a collaboration with Alara Imaging, a pioneer in the development of Medical Imaging Gateways, to integrate Alara's software with PACSHealth, LLC's DoseMonitor® Patient Radiation Dose Monitoring product. This integration aims to support healthcare institutions' compliance with the new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Quality Reporting electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) related to patient radiation dose monitoring for CT exams. The announcement was made following the annual AHRA conference in Orlando, Florida.
As the measure steward, Alara's software facilitates the secure transfer of data from electronic health records (EHRs), radiology information systems (RIS), and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). This data is then utilized for CMS quality measure calculations and reporting, ensuring health systems meet the new patient safety standards.

Radiation doses from CT scans can vary significantly, and excessive doses pose a health risk. CMS has introduced standardized methods to monitor diagnostic CT performance to reduce unnecessary radiation exposure. These measures include eCQMs that leverage Alara's software to extract and analyze data from radiology EHRs.
"PACSHealth, LLC is committed to providing DoseMonitor® customers with the latest technology," said Mike Battin, COO of PACSHealth, LLC. By engaging with Alara, we aim to support our customers' compliance with the new Hospital Quality Reporting eCQMs by leveraging the Alara gateway."
