PHOENIX, Aug. 1, 2024 ~ Phoenix, Aug. 1, 2024 - The newly launched Slice of Knowledge Foundation by Peter Piper Pizza has announced its first grant of $10,000 to Chicanos Por La Causa, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the Latino community. This donation highlights Peter Piper Pizza's ongoing commitment to children's education in Arizona.
The $10,000 grant will be used to benefit underserved youth through various educational programs. The foundation plans to allocate $7,500 for STEM/STEAM enrichment, tutoring books and computers in Phoenix and $2,500 to purchase 250 science lab kits for high school students in Tucson.
According to Rochelle Romero, Brand Marketing Manager at Peter Piper Pizza, "Chicanos Por La Causa's work aligns seamlessly with our Slice of Knowledge Foundation's mission to empower youth through educational initiatives. Thanks to our guests' generous contributions, we're able to continue making a significant impact on children's education within our communities through our new foundation."

The funds for this donation were raised during a campaign in partnership with ICEE back in April. Guests at Peter Piper Pizza restaurants were given the opportunity to donate $2 to the Slice of Knowledge Foundation in exchange for five coupons for a free 12-ounce ICEE.
Chicanos Por La Causa is known for its strong presence in Arizona and throughout the Southwest. The organization focuses on providing educational services such as tutoring, after-school programs and college readiness workshops. They also operate charter schools and early childhood education centers that offer quality educational opportunities for children in underserved communities.
Andres L. Contreras, Executive Vice President of Integrated Health, Social Services and Education at Chicanos Por La Causa expressed his gratitude for the generous donation from Peter Piper Pizza's Slice of Knowledge Foundation. He stated that this funding will significantly impact hundreds of students in Phoenix and Tucson by providing them with essential resources needed for their education.
The Slice of Knowledge Foundation plans to launch its second fundraising campaign in 2025. In addition to this grant, Peter Piper Pizza donates over $600,000 annually to schools, hospitals and nonprofits, showcasing their commitment to giving back to the community.
