MESA, Ariz. - Arizonar -- Professional Indoor Football player, Ricky Wyatt, participated in a holiday giveback hosted by the Chula Vista Police Foundation over the holidays. In partnership with Athletes for Education and Walmart, the Chula Vista Police Foundation held its annual holiday food and toy giveaway on December 20. More than 1000 needy South Bay families attended this holiday event.
Ricky Wyatt, who is a resident of Mesa, made a special trip to San Diego over the holidays to volunteer his time with his Strike Force teammates at the annual Chula Vista Police Foundation holiday giveaway. Ricky will be living in San Diego from February to July for his season with the SD Strike Force so this was the perfect opportunity for him to get to know this community he will call home for a few months.

"The event had a great turnout," said Wyatt. "I enjoyed giving back to the community of San Diego since I will be residing there during the season this year. Seeing the smiles as we were giving out the items was the highlight of the day."
The Chula Vista Police Foundation's goal is to provide the police department with funding for training, programs and specialized equipment to ensure a safer Chula Vista for those who live, work and or visit the city. Some of these programs include the DFR program (Drone as First Responder), Shoe & Sock Drive, Holiday Meal/Toy Giveaway, Evening with Heroes, SWAT, Tactical Operations, Canine, as well as the Cadet program, and Senior Volunteer Patrol.
