Native Owned Energy Developer Awarded LOI to Develop a 1.5 MW Micro-Grid+Battery Combo For Tohono O'odham Tribe's San Lucy District. Will Enable Development of 70-100 New Homes.
PHOENIX - Arizonar -- Red Power Energy, a Native-owned renewable energy company, has entered a strategic partnership with the San Lucy District of the Tohono O'odham Nation to develop, construct and operate a solar microgrid project. This initiative aims to boost energy sovereignty and support sustainable economic growth for the 10,409-acre community near Gila Bend, Arizona.
Letter of Intent for 1.5 MW Microgrid Project
Red Power Energy has also been awarded a Letter of Intent (LOI) by the San Lucy District for the development of a 1.5 MW microgrid-battery project. This milestone supports the company's mission to provide sustainable energy solutions tailored to tribal communities.

The project will:
"We are honored to be selected for this transformative project," said Richard TallBear Westerman, Director of Tribal Energy at Red Power Energy. "This microgrid system emphasizes our commitment to energy sovereignty for tribal communities owning the asset."
Tribal Ownership Focus
Red Power Energy's vision includes a focus on tribal ownership of the microgrid, ensuring that tribal communities control and benefit from the asset for generations. "Our mission is to create tribal energy projects that tribes own, operate, and benefit from directly," said Eli Hopaii, Vice-Chairman of Red Power Energy.
