PHOENIX - Arizonar -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Firm Chair Matthew P. Feeney (https://www.swlaw.com/people/matt_feeney) will be honored with the Service Above Self Award by the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (https://www.mcsf.org/) (MCSF) at the 12th Annual Arizona Celebratory Dinner (https://www.mcsf.org/event/arizona-campaign/) on May 20, 2023. The award recognizes an individual or individuals who serve others without expectation of reward, whose pattern of service is to give unselfishly to their fellow man with thoughtfulness and helpfulness while putting the needs of others before their own. Recipients of this award look beyond themselves to serve fellow citizens through a continued commitment and philanthropic efforts to better the community.
Established in 1962, MCSF is the nation's oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships for military children. Since its inception, MCSF has provided over 50,000 scholarships valued at more than $185 million to the children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen. Feeney has supported MCSF for many years and often remembers his father's honorable service with the Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II. In 2015, Feeney also accepted the Secretary of Defense Freedom Award at the Pentagon on behalf of Snell & Wilmer, recognizing the firm's support of its national guard and military reserve members.
