PHOENIX - Arizonar -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Phoenix Partner Joseph Kanefield (https://www.swlaw.com/people/joseph_kanefield) has been elected as the Arizona State Delegate to the American Bar Association (ABA) House of Delegates (https://www.americanbar.org/groups/leadership/h...) for a three-year term, effective at the conclusion of the 2023 ABA Annual Meeting. The ABA is the largest voluntary association of lawyers in the world.
The control and administration of the ABA is vested in the House of Delegates, the policy-making body of the association. The House is made up of nearly 600 members, two-thirds of whom represent state, local, and special-focus bars. Members of the House draft, debate, and vote on resolutions, and determine what the profession will say to the courts, congress, governments, and bar associations.

"It's an honor to have been elected by my colleagues to this very important position within the American Bar Association," said Kanefield. "I am committed to an independent judiciary, serving the legal profession, and improving access to justice. I look forward to leading Arizona's delegation and will strive to serve the best interests of the public, the justice system, and the legal profession."
Kanefield has assisted clients for nearly 30 years with legal issues affecting state and local government as a skilled litigator and appellate counsel. He helps individuals, organizations, and government officials navigate the increasingly complex regulatory environment governing political activity. He advises clients on an array of issues including election law, campaign finance law, constitutional law, civil and appellate litigation, gaming law, licensure, state and local tax matters, procurement, and public-private partnerships.
