PHOENIX - Arizonar -- The Lung Transplant Support Organization (LTSO) recently received a $2,000 grant from Arizona Federal Credit Union's Local Causes Debit Card Giveback Program. The grant will further the LTSO mission to support lung transplant patients, patient caregivers, and the medical professionals who care for them. LTSO informs and educates patients on resources available beyond their medical insurance coverage, including but not limited to housing and medical and financial assistance.
The locally-based financial cooperative launched the debit card initiative in 2020 to allow its member-owners the opportunity to impact change in the community with every swipe of their debit card. Each time you purchase with the card, the credit union will donate to a community fund that helps support non-profits throughout Arizona. Eight other deserving non-profits joined the Lung Transplant Support Organization in receiving these grants.

"The LTSO is a shining example of the community partners we look to support. They have identified a specific need and made it their mission to affect change on a hyper-local level," says Rachel Galvez, Marketing Partnerships Manager, Arizona Federal Credit Union. "We are so thankful to our member-owners for entrusting us with the power to be a small part of that change in our community and look forward to further developing our partnerships with these deserving organizations in the future."
Since 2008 the Lung Transplant Support Organization has helped hundreds of individuals through their lung transplant experience. It provides monetary assistance when needed and offers mentoring and emotional support through the process to transplant patients and their caregivers. Dave Wick, LTSO President, said, "It is outstanding local companies like the Arizona Federal Credit Union that allow us to help others."
