PHOENIX ~ University of Phoenix Receives Two Silver ADDY® Awards for Competency-Based Master's Degree Campaign
The University of Phoenix has recently been recognized for its outstanding advertising efforts, receiving two Silver ADDY® Awards from the Phoenix Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). These awards were granted in recognition of the university's integrated television campaign promoting their competency-based master's degree programs. The awards ceremony, held at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess on March 8, 2024, celebrated the university's achievements.
Chief Marketing Officer Steve Gross expressed his pride in the campaign's success, stating that it effectively conveyed the message of saving time and money with the university's competency-based master's degree program for less than $11,000 and in under a year. He also noted that it was an honor to be recognized by the AAF and to have the opportunity to celebrate their team's excellence.

The Silver ADDY® Awards were presented in two categories - Elements of Advertising (Video Editing) and Film, Video, and Sound (Regional/National Television Campaign) - for the university's "Channel Surfing" campaign. Vice President of Creative Jeff Preston shared that developing excellent creative that addresses consumer needs and captures attention is a team effort. He also expressed his pride in their team's work and their deep understanding of their audience throughout the creative process.
According to AAF, the ADDY® Awards are considered to be the largest and most representative competition in the advertising industry, with over 25,000 entries each year in local AAF Ad Club competitions. The mission of these awards is to recognize excellence in advertising creativity. The local tier is just one part of a three-tier national competition conducted by AAF. In this tier, local ADDY® winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. Winners from these district competitions then move on to compete at a national level.
