PHOENIX - Arizonar -- Valley Sleep Center, which specializes in sleep health management services, is pleased to announce Dr. Lulu Guo's recently earned board certification in Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Guo is a graduate of the Medical Scholars program at Michigan State University and was admitted into medical school at the age of seventeen, completing undergraduate studies in two years. Dr. Guo completed her Family Medicine training at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN. She completed her Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. She is also a graduate of the Andrew Weil Integrative Medicine fellowship from the University of Arizona and is committed to a personalized approach to treating a patient's sleep concerns.
When asked about her recent achievement, Dr. Guo stated, "Sleep Medicine has always been of interest to me because sleep is the time in which our bodies reenergize, our cells regenerate, and our immune system is replenished. A good night's sleep is imperative to maintaining optimal health and is my foundational approach to whole person care." About the American Board of Family Medicine
Beginning in 2011 certification by the American Board of Family Medicine is maintained through successful completion of the Family Medicine Certification process. The Family Medicine Certification process is a continuous process that requires following Guidelines for Professionalism Licensure and Personal Conduct including maintaining a currently valid, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States or Canada, completing certification activities in a timely fashion, and performing successfully on the examination every ten years.
