of the 104 ~ White Castle, the iconic fast-food chain known for its famous sliders, has announced a significant change in its leadership. The company's Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, Anthony Joseph, has been appointed as the new president. This marks the first time in White Castle's 104-year history that a non-family member will hold this position.
Joseph, who joined White Castle in 2016, has been instrumental in leading various functions within the company such as legal, risk management, organizational development, technology, and corporate relations. With his new role as president, he will now also oversee the retail and manufacturing divisions of White Castle.
Lisa Ingram, the fourth-generation family member and current CEO of White Castle, expressed her confidence in Joseph's abilities and leadership skills. She stated that his dedication to the company and his strategic planning expertise make him the perfect fit for this role. Ingram also mentioned that she will continue to rely on Joseph's guidance as she focuses on her responsibilities as CEO and board chair.

This change in leadership not only reflects White Castle's commitment to growth but also marks a significant shift in the family-owned enterprise. While Ingram passes on her role as president to Joseph, she will continue to lead the company as CEO and board chair.
Expressing his gratitude for this opportunity, Joseph stated that it is an honor to be named president of White Castle. He acknowledged the company's rich history and its dedication to making a positive impact on its customers, communities, and employees. Joseph also expressed his excitement about building upon past successes and embracing future opportunities for growth.
Founded in 1921, White Castle has achieved several milestones over the years. In 2021 alone, it celebrated its 100th anniversary and opened new destination restaurants in Phoenix and Orlando. The company also sold its 6 billionth retail slider and broke ground on a multi-million dollar expansion of its plant in Vandalia, Ohio to meet the growing demand for frozen sliders.
