Arizona: Governor Katie Hobbs Declares Statewide State of Emergency

Trending...
Phoenix, AZ ~ Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs declared a state of emergency Monday after thunderstorms, high winds and flash flooding caused damage across the state, her office said.

The declaration makes $200,000 in emergency funding available to local communities and activates the state's Emergency Response and Recovery Plan. It authorizes the Arizona Division of Emergency Management to coordinate state resources.

The storms damaged homes, roads and public infrastructure, prompted evacuations and displaced residents, according to the announcement. State agencies have been conducting rescues and removing debris, while state and local crews clear roads to support residents' return.
